Today you’re going to learn how to answer why should we hire you question.
Many people hope that they can get their dream jobs by simply asking for it. Unfortunately, you need to work hard for it. Working per se is one thing and getting hired to do the work is another.
Although the latter is less challenging that becoming part of the company, you may still find it a tough job to get in.
You need to tell the employers or hiring managers why you are the perfect fit; why they should hire you. The problem, do you know why they should hire you?
If you are the best, one of the “creams of the crop” and you still do not know it, the following may help you give a name to your unique and attractive qualities.
How To Answer Why Should We Hire You Question:
1. You submitted a great resume that is not copy-pasted
In terms of design, content, and preciseness, your resume is already a winner. This will be enough to catch your potential employer’s eye.
2. You have the education, skills, and experience
If you are applying for the position of nurse but you only have a nursing assistant certificate, do you think the employer would hire you as a nurse even if your resume is above the market standard?
Of course not.
You will be hired if you graduated with a degree in nursing, have worked at a hospital for three or five years, and you have been awarded for your excellent performance.
3. You have an impressive level of exposure to various areas of the business
No one would reject a person who is well-rounded, have travelled places, have worked with different people can adjust to different environments.
If you have included in your resume your various trainings, positions in your previous companies, organizations you have joined, and the like, your employers will know that you are serious about your craft and you will be a great addition to their company.
4. You are a people-person
If you have included all the groups you have joined and led in the past, your employer would see how you work with people and how effective you were.
Any employer would want someone in the company who is not difficult to deal with and can contribute for the company’s advancement.
5. You are an achiever
Show your future employer that you are the type of employee who would make money for the company instead of just save. Any employer who sees that you are a profit-generating asset will find it hard to turn you down.
6. You like challenges
The key to getting hired is to let your employers know how imperfect you are and how hungry you are for competency and success. Employers want someone who is willing to render overtime work without any complaints.
7. You are confident
If you were able to demonstrate your confidence during the interview (1), you are more likely to get hired. How do you do this?
You show them that you know what you are talking about and you look at them straight in the eye when you speak with them.
8. Your enthusiasm and positive attitude radiates
When you see someone, you instantly know that he/she is someone with a positive attitude because of the aura, the smiles, the treatment he/she offer, etc.
Employers love to have a fun and light yet productive working environment. They do not want someone who wouldn’t talk or wouldn’t do the assigned tasks.
9. You have the charm
It is hard not to separate charisma or appeal from positive attitude because not everyone with charisma has positive attitude and vice versa.
It would be better though to show your employer you a positive attitude while he/she is smitten by your charisma. Show them you are someone who will make a mark.
10. Congratulations, you submitted your resume to the right person
Some people tend to submit their resume to HR personnel who can easily dismiss their paper, while you took the time to call the company and ask for the name of the person you should be submitting your resume to.
11. You know what the company is looking for and you know you have what the company is looking for
And then you were able to tell them what you have during the interview in a confident manner. Know your value and your worth.
Know your weaknesses and strength. Know what your goals in life and tell them these in your own words.
12. You followed the application direction
Often, detailing what an applicant has to do to get shortlisted is just a test to determine if he can follow directions.
Since you followed the directions and got 100% approval, you have a higher chance of getting hired.
13. You were able to relate an experience at work with your abilities
During the interview, you were able to tell stories about the challenges you met during your past employments (2) and were able to demonstrate your analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
14. Your resume did not go round in circle
If you included only the most vital information in your resume, it sure grabbed the attention of your interviewers.
It is not necessary to include your experience at McDonald’s if you are applying for an engineering job.
15. You have a strong online presence
Social media has been a great part of many people’s lives. If you direct your interviewers to your own social media pages, they will have an idea about your personality, points of view, and your life.
