If you’re looking for some strategies on how to whiten clothes, then you’ll love this article.
White clothes look beautiful, but unfortunately, after a while, they lose their snowy glow. They turn gray and yellow patches of sweat appear on them. To prevent this, you can, of course, reach for the bleach. However, it is dangerous not only for fabrics but also for the environment. Is there a safe way to restore their snow-white color? Yes of course. Even a few ways. You will find them later in the advice.
How To Whiten Clothes Naturally?
Yellowed or gray clothes will turn white again if you soak them in a lemon rinse. Those that are resistant to high temperatures (e.,g. towels, bedding or socks), you can soak in hot water with lemon. In a large pot, boil water with a few sliced lemons. Put gray fabric on it and leave it for about an hour. Then wash it as usual. You can also pour 1/4 – 1/2 glass of lemon juice into the rinse container. Wash the laundry at the highest possible temperature. For even better results, dry your clothes in the sun.
Another effective way is to add one measure of vinegar instead of rinse aid for washing. It not only restores clothes to white but also softens them by removing the detergent deposits accumulated during previous washes.
3. Soda-washed lotion
You can also soak clothes in a solution prepared from 4 liters of water and 1 cup of baking soda. Leave them in the solution for several dozen minutes and then wash them as usual. White will become white again.
Aspirin perfectly removes yellowish sediment and stains from sweat. Dissolve five aspirin tablets in water and immerse the clothes in the solution. Soak them for a long time and then wash them as usual. Attention! Use only white aspirin tablets. Those in colored casings could stain the fabric.
A bit of borax added to the washing powder can refresh the white and help to remove difficult stains. Add one meter of borax to a small package of washing powder. Mix. Use as usual. Borax will also soften the water.
6. Oxidized water.
A little bit of hydrogen peroxide will make the sludge through which gray, white clothes will be dissolved. All you need to do is wash your clothes in a solution made of two parts of hydrogen peroxide and one piece of washing up liquid. Do it an hour before washing.
Is a secret that hotels use around the world to keep their towels still white despite the many washes. First, we wash the fabric only with a washing powder (in hotels the towels will be washed for the second time – this time with the use of only a rinse aid – this step you can safely skip). Then we repeat the laundry, but without detergents. The only thing we add is 1/2 a glass of ammonia placed in the rinsing container. The result – perfectly white towels after each wash.
